Goodbye Summer

We can see summer coming to an end.  We have big changes on the horizon. In preparation for college Owen got a haircut.  Goodbye curls.

I walk to the grocery store every day. This is the route I take.  Even though I walk in 105-110 degrees I always enjoy the scenery.

We hit up the skate ring and we loved being in a cool environment.
Owen loves to skate!  He is hoping he will be playing some hockey in the near future.
Meg is going to miss Owen terribly when he leaves.

We celebrated Pascal's birthday!

We took a road trip to the desert.  It was fascinating.

Owen hiked to the top of the dune. It was about 120 so it was a big no go for me.

I have mixed emotions about school starting for the kids.  Excited for them to make friends and have new experiences but I will miss having them around.  New adventures ahead....stay tuned.

New Adventures

I haven't blogged in years and now I am am trying to figure out how to upload pictures and navigate how things have changed.  Here are a few photos of what we have been up to.  Pascal took me to Israel to celebrate our anniversary.  We had the best time.
The Dead Sea
Beit Guvrin National Park - hand-dug caves

The Wailing Wall

The only selfie we took
We rode this cable car down to see the Rosh Hanikra Grottos

Sea of Galilee

We discovered our favorite sorbet shop - Golda and we went every night!
The food was some of the best I have ever had.
Back home! We were one day and the rental car's back window just randomly came down and would not go back up!  We rode around all the day with a broken window in 105 degrees.
Meg got to ride a horse one day, but with it being 107 it was a very short ride.
Meg and I opted not to ride the camel this time.  I didn't wear the best shoes.

 The Presidential Palace was amazing!

The Mangroves... we can't wait to kayak here when it gets cooler.

Owen found Krispy Cream at our local shopping mall.
Meg and I love to get a smoothie at McCafe .  That is our handy dandy rolling shopping bag I got at Ikea.  I am quite a sight when I walk to the grocery store.  I wear my sun hat, sun glasses, sun shirt I also opt for an umbrella for added shade and then of course bring my rolling bag.

Sunset view. We have been living in Abu Dhabi for a little over a month now and are slowly finding our footing. We are adjusting to the heat and are excited to discover more of this beautiful place!

and that's a wrap!
